Origin + Intention

Welcome to Studio MĀCHA
I’m Sevgi, an architect, artist, and mother of two, who lives and creates in Houston, Texas.

I was born in Germany and moved to the United States in 2014, where I studied architecture at the University of Texas at San Antonio. My foundation in design, materials, and spatial aesthetics deeply informs how I approach both art and life.

Studio MĀCHA is where my worlds meet: architecture, motherhood, materiality, and meaning. It’s a space where I explore the beauty of imperfection, the quiet poetry of natural textures, and the power of sustainability. I hold a certification in interior design, and I bring that same attention to detail and emotional resonance into everything I create, from sculptural side tables to layered paper mâché wall pieces and lighting.

At the heart of my work is a love for upcycled and honest materials. I believe that art can heal, connect, and inspire, and that the things we live with should hold meaning. My pieces are tactile, emotionally grounded, and environmentally conscious, made slowly, intentionally, and always with care.

As a mother, I find endless inspiration in the rhythms of everyday life and the natural world. I share my creative journey with my daughters, teaching them about artistic exploration, sustainable living, and the joy of making with our hands. Every creation at Studio MĀCHA reflects this deeper rhythm: of patience, presence, and love.

Thank you for being here. I hope my work brings warmth, thoughtfulness, and beauty into your space, one piece at a time.
